Daylight Saving Time in the US
Most of the US observes daylight saving time (DST). Clocks spring forward on the second Sunday in March at 2:00 AM and fall back on the first Sunday in November at 2:00 AM. During DST, each time zone shifts one hour ahead. Arizona (except the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii are the only states that do not observe DST.
Common Use Cases
- Scheduling cross-timezone meetings — understand the 3-hour spread from East to West Coast
- Travel planning — knowing the time difference between origin and destination
- Business operations — coordinating offices in multiple US cities
- Broadcasting — TV and livestream scheduling across all US zones
- Customer support — staffing across multiple time zones for coverage
